#1 LoveLoop
I've been meaning to do this for a while. I really want to document my journey through my first attempt at making a game, but I didn't want to show anything off until i was happy with the direction that I was going in. Now i think i have a good idea of what this game will end up being, and i hope my writing and ideas will be liked by some people. Some things i want to note about the project.
- I plan for this game to be completley free, no prompt for donations either. I never want to have to think about changing what im making to appeal to a wider audience or to somehow increase sales. I have a nice dead end job and I want to write for myself, gamedev and make comics purely for my own enjoyment. But stories are meant to be read, so here we are.
- This project will eventually have nsfw content in it. I started out this project with no nsfw content in mind, but as I continued writing and exploring the characters and talking to friends about my story, I found that having nsfw scenes might actually help tell the story that I'm trying to tell.
- This game is not for everyone. I understand that there is going to be some characters that will make some people uncomfortable. I absolutley try my best to only include what i think is neccesary to tell a characters story. If i am planning for something tragic or criminal to happen to a character, I work on those scenes for maybe months before im comforable putting it in the main game. while i personally am not to oconcerned with wether or not people are going to get triggers from playing this game, I would like to do my best to not glorify sexualize or misrepresent situations that mirror real life. I hope that through this game someone can explore difficult or unnerving ideas and potentially learn more about themselves or others. Sometimes i see comics and games get alot of negative attention because of their emotionally charged content, and it scares me to think tat i might get the same amount of hate
- Progress will be slow. As I mentioned above, some content will be delayed a lot because I want to make sure it's good enough to show to a public audience. I don't think that I'm very good at any of the skills you need to be a successful gamedev, but I am in the process of reorganizing my life so that I can work on this project more and dedicate less time to gaming/youtube shorts doom scrolling.
- Eventually I want to make some sort of community discord. Maybe just something that I can post quick updates and answer questions on, even if it's to only like, 3 people.
And now I have to explain what this game actually is.
LoveLoop is a visual novel about a guy who has been caught in a time loop. he is instructed to seek out certain women in the city that he lives in and have them fall in love with him. Using his time travel, he can go back and fix the mistakes that he made and use his knowledge of the future to make better decisions in the past. I plan for the game to have 6 routes/love interests all with intertwining stories. So far, I have 1 route for the demo almost completely written, and I have 1 other route being worked on right now. I have some ideas for what I would like to have for the others, but nothing is set in stone yet. I am working on character art for those two girls at the moment, and I would like for my next devlog to be all about them, and a detailed explanation for how I'm going about designing these girls. (lord knows I'm going to need a good defense for route 1s girl). That is all for now. I hope you enjoyed this devlog and I hope you'll be back for more in the future. I don't know when the first alpha/demo will be finished but I will make a post when its ready.

*Sidenote, I am doodling some comics in the times that I don't feel very motivated to work on the game. if you end up checking them out, I very much appreciate it.
